"Story Lady" Tuesday and Marshmallow Igloo Craft

This was the day for the "story lady". She read stories about about snow, did finger plays, action songs and activities about snow.
Afterwards we made snow igloos with marshmallows.

Hi!! I teach pre-school did you use stirophone plates or bowls? Trying to figure this out! Cute idea. :)

Hi, Elyse! I used 7" styrofome plates for the bottom. For the igloo I used an 8 oz. cup but I cut about an inch off the top.

how were the marshmellows attached?

@tremblayfam We used Aleene's Tacky Glue from Wal-Mart. It's a little thicker than Elmers Glue and held very well.

Thanks for the great idea! I tweeked it a little to enable my preschoolers to "eat" their igloo. I made chocolate muffins, turned them upside down, covered with white icing, and then added the marshmallows. The kids loved making them at school.....I loved them eating them at home!!!!

Beth, that's a wonderful idea! We'll have to try that too and yeah, I like the part about "eating them at home"! :)
